Turn Based Battle

A battle system based off retro style rpg turn based battles. Each character represents a job class that has specific stats and skill sets.

Vision

I always loved turn-based battle systems, so I decided to make one. Each turn is based on the characters' speed, damage is based on attack and defense, the chance of a hit is based on evasion and speed, etc. My inspiration comes from Final Fantasy 7 (the first RPG I ever played)

Job classes

Each character has a specific job class that allows them to use specific skillsets. Paladin allows the player to use light based magic and heavy attacks. Mage allos the player to use elemental attacks and healing spells. Ninja allows the player to use quick attacks and evasive skills.

Skills

Each player's skill set depends on their job class. Paladins have strong melee attacks, light elemental magic, and healing magic. Ninja has mid-level strength, evasive skills, and multi-hit attacks. Mage has elemental magic including fire, earth, water, and wind, and healing magic stronger than Paladin's.

Stats

The UI design is pretty simple. A main menu where the player can start the game, learn how to play or quit the game, and a pause menu while in the game to return to the main menu or quit the game. The player UI on-screen during gameplay displays the player's health bar, how many times the player can spit, and the player's score. During the boss battle of the level, the Boss' health bar is displayed at the top of the screen. When the player finishes the level, The final score is displayed on the screen. Also, while the player runs through the beginning of the level, there is a short tutorial on how to play.
